William Tapscott (Hons. BSc) | Founder and CEO

Bill has founded, co-founded and led a number of successful technology start-up companies in Toronto over the past 25 years, including: IntelliOne, a world leading method of processing cell phone data to generate bulk geo-location and traffic information; Maptuit, a navigation and optimization software company in Transportation Logistics; and, Mountain Lake Software, a custom software development company with a strong financial services practice. These companies became acquisition targets of larger organizations for their strategic value. Bill is an Advisory Board Member of Jonah Group, a 100-person software services company with clients in financial services and US Healthcare. Bill has a special interest in Cleantech and is on the Investment Committee of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund.


Jane Ricciardelli (B.Comm, MBA) Chief Marketing Officer

Jane is a senior digital executive  with over 20 years of experience leading marketing, strategy and operations for technology-based  companies. Most recently, she was the CMO of Exchange Solutions, a leading provider of loyalty programs for national retailers and banks, with a client roster including Esso, Scotiabank, Sears and Lowes. Prior to that, Jane was the VP of Strategic Projects for Lavalife, where she spearheaded the company’s international expansion as well as the launch of LavalifePrime, a niche dating site which acquired over 40k members within its first year. Jane also has an entrepreneurial bent, having co-founded one of Canada’s leading digital agencies, Medium One Productions. After building the company to 40+ full-time employees in Toronto and Montreal, the company was sold to Mosaic Group Inc. in 2000.


Patrick Poulin (P.Eng., BESc, MBA) Vice President, Crypto-Offset Engineering

Patrick is an accomplished senior business executive, professional engineer, and entrepreneur with over 25 years of front-line experience in product development and commercialization, supply chain management, and manufacturing operations.  These areas of expertise were perfected during a highly successful career in the aerospace industry supporting clients such as GE, Rolls Royce, and United Technologies.  Patrick left aerospace to become owner and managing partner of a robotic automation firm focused in the global food industry selling game-changing automation systems to all the majors such as Maple Leaf, Cargill, and Tyson. Through acquiring, growing, and selling his robotics business to a large US multinational he developed an expertise in SME investing and deal making.  He has a rapidly developing interest and knowledge in the game-changing power of blockchain and is very excited to now be part of the sustainability use case at CarbonX.

Sharon Solomon (M.A.) | Executive Producer

Sharon is an accomplished Project Consultant with a history of contributing to a client’s success through project delivery and Executive Search in Financial Services, Information Technology and Cleantech Industries in Canada, the US, and the UK. An early advocate for sustainable development, Sharon assisted The World Watch Institute, an environmental think tank based in Washington D.C. in developing a research program (The New Economy Council) and secured the founding financial partner from industry for its inception. Earlier she has helped companies build high profile Boards and find ‘C’ level individuals across a broad corporate spectrum for sustainable energy companies through the UK and Asia. For Investment Banks she has carried out numerous executive recruiting projects for positions in Systems Architecture and Development, Trading and Cyber Security. Her network of contacts covers the world's leading figures in Finance and Cleantech.


Drew Atkins (B.Sc., Engineering Physics) | Advisory Chief Architect

Drew is one of the three founders at Jonah Group, a 100+ person software consultancy in Toronto. Jonah Group designs and builds high-performance custom technology solutions with an emphasis on great user experience, robust architecture and high business value. The team creates software for North American clients in areas including: capital markets, loyalty, health and retail financial services technology. Drew has over 30 years of experience as a senior software architect and project manager. He’s managed technical departments for several software companies, as well as planned, designed and rolled out many large business-critical projects.

Richard L. Sandor (Ph.D.) 

Richard is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Environmental Financial Products LLC, which specializes in inventing, designing, and developing new financial markets with a special emphasis on investment advisory services. EFP was established in 1998 and was the predecessor company and incubator to the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), the European Climate Exchange (ECX) and the Chicago Climate Futures Exchange (CCFE). Dr. Sandor was honored by the City of Chicago for his contribution to the creation of financial futures and his universal recognition as the "father of financial futures.” In October 2007, he was honored as one of TIME Magazine’s “Heroes of the Environment” for his work as the “Father of Carbon Trading,” and in October 2012 he was presented with the World Federation of Exchanges Award for Excellence. Dr. Sandor is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School, a Visiting Fellow with the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford, and a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Finance at Guanghua School of Management at Peking University.


Joseph Pallant

Joseph has been driving innovation in the carbon market since 2004, providing project development expertise and strategic direction across private, public and NGO endeavours. He has developed first-of offset projects in forestry, fuel switching and transportation, founded CPS Carbon Project Solutions Inc., a pioneering offset development firm and co-founded the Carbon Cocktails society. Today, Joseph runs Brinkman Climate in Vancouver, BC. His blockchain for climate work focuses on two fundamental use cases of the technology - connecting emissions reductions opportunities to capital & demand, and providing the transactional platform securing compliance with international emissions reductions programs like the Paris Agreement. With one eye to implementation and the other to policy, Joseph’s work, insight and advocacy help shape the growth of our low-carbon economy. 

Joseph holds an MBA degree from INSEEC, Paris, France, a post graduate diploma in Latin American Management from the McRae Institute of International Management (Capilano College) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria. He is an avid communicator and has been a featured speaker in academic and business environments. His contributions as a member of International Emissions Trading Association, and attendee at the Montreal, Copenhagen, Paris and Bonn UN Climate conferences add context and vision to his work for climate solutions.
